PSEB 8th Class Result 2026: Tamanna Tops with 100% as Girls Outshine Boys Again

The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has officially declared the results for the 8th Class Examination held in February 2026. This year’s data reflects a high level of academic achievement across the state, with girls continuing to lead the way in pass percentages.

Tamanna Grabs Top Spot with a Perfect Score

In a remarkable display of academic excellence, Tamanna from Saraswati Senior Secondary School, Jaito (Faridkot), secured the 1st Rank in the state by scoring a perfect 600 out of 600 marks (100%).

The second and third positions were also dominated by female students:

• 2nd Rank: Japneet Kaur from Government Middle School, Arkwas (Sangrur) with 598/600 (99.67%).
• 3rd Rank: Jashandeep Kaur from Sant Mohan Das Memorial Senior Secondary School, Kot Sukhia (Faridkot) with 598/600 (99.67%).

Key Result Statistics at a Glance

The overall pass percentage for the 2025-2026 academic session stands at 96.51%. While this is a slight dip from last year’s 97.30%, the performance across various demographics remains strong.

Top Performing Districts in Punjab

District-wise data shows that Pathankot has emerged as the academic leader in the state with the highest pass rate.

1. Pathankot: 98.90%
2. Amritsar: 98.65%
3. Gurdaspur: 98.43%
4. Kapurthala: 98.21%
5. Tarn Taran: 97.98%

At the other end of the spectrum, Sri Muktsar Sahib recorded a pass percentage of 93.75%.

Subject-Wise Excellence

Students performed exceptionally well in core subjects, with several vocational and elective subjects achieving a 100% pass rate, including Urdu Elective and Music (Instrumental).

• Punjabi: 99.83%
• Mathematics: 99.00%
• Science: 99.49%
• English: 98.28%
• Computer Science: 99.79%

Out of the total candidates, 9,143 students have been placed in the ‘Re-Appear’ category, while the results for 34 students have been withheld.
