The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has officially released the theory examination schedule for Class 8 students for the upcoming annual session. Students preparing for their middle school finals can now align their study plans as the dates have been confirmed for February 2026.

According to the notification, the written exams will commence in the third week of February, starting with the English paper.

Exam Timing and Reading Time

All theory examinations are scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM.

In a student-friendly move, the board has allotted an extra 15 minutes before the start of the exam. This time is specifically meant for reading the question paper, helping students understand the questions before they start writing.

Detailed Subject-Wise Schedule

The exams will run from February 17 to February 27, 2026. Here are the key dates students should mark on their calendars:

  • Feb 17 (Tuesday): English
  • Feb 19 (Thursday): First Language (Punjabi / Hindi / Urdu)
  • Feb 20 (Friday): Science
  • Feb 21 (Saturday): Second Language (Punjabi / Hindi / Urdu)
  • Feb 23 (Monday): Mathematics
  • Feb 24 (Tuesday): Computer Science
  • Feb 25 (Wednesday): Social Science
  • Feb 26 (Thursday): Health and Physical Education
  • Feb 27 (Friday): Elective & Vocational Subjects

Important Updates on Practical Exams

Before the written theory exams begin, schools will conduct the practical examinations.

  • Dates: February 2, 2026, to February 12, 2026.
  • Venue: These will be held at the respective school level.
  • Note: Certain vocational subjects like Cutting & Tailoring and Needlework will have only practical exams and no theory papers.

Instructions for Candidates

The board has issued strict guidelines for the conduct of exams:

  1. Electronic Gadgets: The use of mobile phones or any electronic devices inside the examination hall is strictly prohibited.
  2. Special Needs: Exams for specially-abled students (differently-abled) will be conducted at the school level.

Students are advised to stay in touch with their school administration for their roll numbers and center details.
